Two House Panels Launch Investigation Into FBI’s 2016 Decisions
Two key House committees have launched a joint investigation into decisions the Department of Justice made in 2016 during the presidential election.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, (R., Va.) and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) announced the probe on Tuesday.
Without mentioning then-FBI Director James Comey by name, the lawmakers said it would review several decisions the FBI made last year dealing with the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material while secretary of State, as well as its probe of campaign associates of then-candidate Donald Trump and their ties to Russia.
"Our justice system is represented by a blind-folded woman holding a set of scales," Goodlatte and Gowdy said in a joint statement. "Those scales do not tip to the right or the left; they do not recognize wealth, power, or social status."
"The impartiality of our justice system is the bedrock of our republic and our fellow citizens must have confidence in its objectivity, independence, and even-handedness," they continued. "The law is the most equalizing force in this country. No entity or individual is exempt from oversight."

400 Scientific Papers in 2017 Say ‘Global Warming’ Is a Myth
When I reported earlier this year on the 58 scientific papers published in 2017 that say global warming is a myth the greenies’ heads exploded.
Since then, that figure has risen to 400 scientific papers.
Can you imagine the misery and consternation and horror this is going to cause in the corrupt, rancid, rent-seeking world of the Climate Industrial Complex?
I can. It will look something like this.
Just to be clear, so the greenies can’t bleat about being misrepresented, here is what these various papers say:

Ted Cruz Endorses Roy Moore
In a statement released Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced he was endorsing former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore in his race for U.S. Senate.
Cruz said the country “desperately needed” Moore in Washington, D.C. to “stand up to the status quo.”
“This December, the People of Alabama have a clear choice,” Cruz said in a statement. “They can choose a liberal Democrat, who will stand with Chuck Schumer to raise taxes, weaken our military, open our border, and undermine our constitutional rights. Or, they can choose to elect Judge Roy Moore, a conservative who will proudly defend Alabama values.”

PragerU Sues YouTube and Google over Alleged Censorship of Conservatives
PragerU, the conservative digital media organization from Dennis Prager, is suing YouTube and its parent Google over alleged censorship of their videos.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, “says YouTube’s more than 30 million visitors a day make the site so elemental to free speech in the digital age that it should be treated as a public forum.”
“The suit argues the site must use the ‘laws governing free speech,’ not its own discretion, to make decisions about what to censor,” they reported, adding that PragerU “alleges that by limiting access to some of its videos without clear criteria YouTube is infringing on PragerU’s First Amendment rights.”
YouTube has repeatedly censored PragerU on their platform, labeling political videos as “restricted” adult content and even removing a video of “a Muslim man describing how he was raised to be anti-Semitic,” branding the video as “hate speech.”

PETITION: CNN must file as a Dem super PAC
Friend,
Enough! CNN is NOT “news.” It’s a billion-dollar Democrat super PAC tasked with running anti-Trump hit pieces and propping up liberal candidates.
We can no longer let CNN get away with deceiving American citizens with 24/7 campaign ads disguised as “news.”
For far too long, I’ve watched Republicans roll over like cowards when the fake news media call them names, twist their words, and downright lie about them.
But things are different with President Donald J. Trump. Not only has he been the target of more vicious attacks than ANY Republican in history, but he NEVER lets the media win.
They’ve defamed him and stooped so low as to shamelessly attack our First Lady, but you can guarantee that President Trump will always fight back.
He doesn’t want their praise, and he knows he’ll never get it. The only praise he cares about is yours, Friend.
But now he needs your help fighting back against the rising threat from the real opposition party: the FAKE NEWS MEDIA.
While the DNC and other Democrat super PACs have to register with the FEC and brand themselves as campaign organizations, the multi-billion-dollar-CNN machine is FAR more effective and masks itself as “news.”
It’s time for CNN to officially be classified as what it truly is: A DEMOCRAT SUPER PAC.
A Viewer Writes: I guess the silence was too deafening to CNN..
....they finally have it on their site as "breaking news" after Fox had it for a few days.

The Origin of the Left’s Discontent
By Joe David
America is collapsing on almost every crucial level. Our great universities, which were once a fortress of reason, are shamelessly responsible by producing men and women hell-bent on destroying our free nation.
In the last decade especially, corruption has become so widespread in America that many citizens accept it as the norm. This collapse of law and order didn’t occur overnight, even though it is fashionable to think so by blaming it on the Trump administration. It began years ago when educators systematically began to encourage student disrespect toward America by romanticizing globalism.
The anarchy that I predicted in the 80s in my nationally acclaimed novel The Fire Within has today become a reality. Many of the schemes to break down societal order, first tested and perfected in inner-city schools, have spread throughout the public school system, and into our great universities. This has left many parents bewildered and searching for an explanation. The excuses often echoed by prominent educators and publications like Education Week are almost always the same with parental neglect, stagnant school spending, lack of diversity, and even racism usually getting top listing.
Rarely are educators heard sharing the real reasons for the problem. Those credentialed men and women who have the knowledge and the willingness to shed light on what’s happening are not being allowed to speak out publicly. Whatever crucial information that they may have to share is silenced by disagreeable students and the endless blast of denial and propaganda from the mainstream media. Our great universities, which have the skill to unite the country, are working hand-in-hand with the media to divide it.
To circumvent this national trend, many prominent leaders committed to open dialogue and freedom of speech are boldly resisting this trend by attempting to speak out on campuses against the organized movement to silence them and to subvert freedom. What they are facing almost everywhere for their efforts is armed resistance. The very institutions that once peacefully guarded our freedom and nurtured our independence are encouraging rioting. UCLA-Berkeley is an excellent example.
In a Los Angeles Times article, one demonstrator, disturbed by the negative news coverage campus protestors were getting, wisely believed that such continued coverage would turn the public against the student movement. Unfortunately, the demonstrator didn’t seem to realize that this was exactly what the masterminds behind the rebellion wanted. In order to break down order in a powerful country like America, they needed widespread discontent. The best way to do this was to train students in Alinsky-style protesting and turn one group against the other.
As a young man, educated traditionally in the forties and fifties, I wasn’t prepared for the modern classroom. In my day, the schools were orderly, not a fist-fighting, pill-popping jungle. Although I was sometimes smart enough to spot the mendacity and propaganda that was creeping into the schools during my school years, the schools were generally a safe place for traditional learning. Most students were taught to understand through education and hard work that they could realize their dreams.
When I decided to teach in the sixties and seventies, I saw for the first time the raw reality of change, especially in inner-city schools. Understanding the cause for this rising breakdown of order didn’t come easily for me. It took time – and much reading, thinking and testing to identify. Like so many teachers, I was concerned about the students’ freedom to run wild and to destroy property with immunity. At first, I blamed the principal, attributing the disorder to his inability to motivate the students – until I realized that the principal was in place, not because of some accident, but because he was exactly the person needed by the system to advance such chaos.
This was true, not just where I taught, but at other inner-city public schools as well. Many principles were used like pawns, carefully chosen, to set in motion activities that would accelerate the disintegration of education. They did this by employing a myriad of activities, like mismatching teachers and subjects, encouraging student power, and supporting academic programs that would handicap learning. (Several examples of the latter included teaching the look-say reading method, the confusing new math system, and even revisionist history.) To give purpose to the chaos that followed, ruthless teachers who thrived in failing classrooms were hired to advance their political agenda, in lieu of reading, writing, and arithmetic.
When I finally stepped through the cloud of deception, carefully created to blur my understanding of the problem, I began to see a very dark force at play. Quite by accident I came across Dr. Maria Montessori’s book, The Absorbent Mind, which was published many years earlier. This honest, and easy-to-read book immediately clarified the problem for me. Instead of advancing the moral relativity inherent in pragmatism, taught in most government schools, Dr. Montessori advanced a philosophy of education that respected the moral and intellectual growth of each child. In my novel, The Fire Within, I identified these two diametrically opposing views of education and set them against each other to demonstrate what would happen when they were put into action. After publishing my book, I went on the road in the early 80s to promote it. Through hard-work and design I was booked by many talk shows, locally and nationally.
I believed then, as I do today, that the surest way to societal salvation begins with the right educational philosophy. This can best be achieved through an education system, like the Montessori system, which respects moral development and individual freedom. Unfortunately, pragmatism, which basically conflicts with the Montessori system, has a stronghold on today’s education. Ending this stronghold isn’t going to be easy. But if we are to survive as a free and independent society, we must succeed. What is happening today all around us should convince us of the urgency.

City Receives $350,000 Grant from DOJ’s Office on Violence Against Women
Partnership with Life Crisis Center and Telamon Maryland & Delaware Inc. will use grant to fund transitional housing, counseling for victims of domestic violence
Salisbury, MD – The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence against Women. In conjunction with the Life Crisis Center and Telamon Corporation, the $350,000 award will create a transitional housing program for women actively fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, dating abuse, or stalking.
“Securing safe and affordable housing is a critical first step for many women fleeing an abusive relationship,” says Theo Williams, Housing & Homelessness Manager. “Unfortunately, abusers frequently use housing and a lack of income as a means of control to ensure that their victims can’t leave. This grant fund addresses this critical problem by giving women the safety and security to leave their abusers knowing that they will have a place to live.”
The funding, which will be distributed over three years, will enable the Life Crisis Center to hire a housing specialist, in addition to providing short-term rental funding for up to 9 households, annually. Women in the program will also be offered free enrollment in Telamon Corporation’s highly successful Food and Safety Training program, a 14-week intensive course that enables participants to receive a ServSafe certification. The City will also partner with the Life Crisis Center to create a single-family transitional house that may become homeowner-occupied.
“What a terrific way to celebrate Domestic Violence Awareness month,” said Life Crisis Center Director, Abigail Marsh. “Life Crisis Center is committed to helping victims become survivors. We are thrilled to be partnering with the City of Salisbury and Telamon to provide additional support to victims of domestic violence in our community."
Salisbury Mayor Jake Day said, “Four of the seven homicides we’ve seen in the past year occurred as the result of a domestic issue. Four of seven committed by people who were close to their victims. Domestic violence has historically been an ugly, poorly-kept secret in so many communities across the country. Unnoticed by those who could help – sometimes ignored because it’s uncomfortable to confront. We will not abide mental abuse, physical abuse, or any circumstance which leads to the loss of dignity or peace of mind.
“We are creating change in our City, and in our community at large, by seeking out opportunities such as this partnership, this grant funding, to implement innovative solutions right here. It’s why we created the Housing and Community Development Department; to bring needed attention to the issues in our community which have too long gone unaddressed. By partnering with Life Crisis Center and Telamon on this initiative, we’re bringing resources together in a new, inventive way, to provide support, escape, haven for anyone who may find themselves in an abusive situation.”
The Life Crisis Center intends to begin full operation of this program by January 2018, but continues to operate its crisis shelter 24x7 for anyone fleeing domestic violence. If you are experiencing domestic violence or have been a victim of sexual assault, please call the Life Crisis Center at (410) 749-HELP or 211.

An ecologist speaks for the silent giants: Old-growth trees
The vista from the steps of Arlington House offers one of the most spectacular views of Washington. The scene unfurls, from the sloping lawns of Arlington National Cemetery to Memorial Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial and on to the Mall. The architectural geometry is leavened by the snaking Potomac River.
But I have huffed and puffed my way up to this high ground to see something more ancient and, in its own way, defining of the nation’s history. Joan Maloof is waiting to show me the other side of the mansion, a pocket of forest known as the Arlington Woods. Only 12 acres remain of what was once a sylvan 600 acres, part of the 1,100-acre estate owned by G.W.P. Custis, the adopted grandson of George Washington (and father-in-law of Robert E. Lee).
Entering the woodland is tricky; there are no easy trails, and we have to leap across a drainage swale. But once we are in the heart of this forested dell, the sounds of the riding mowers and the tour trams and even the passenger jets are muted. They are replaced with shrieks of blue jays and the white-noise rustle of the wind through the leaves. Maloof, who is 61 and trim, with piercing slate-blue eyes, seems to both relax and come alive in this place. She blithely clambers onto a huge fallen trunk and uses it as a pixie perch to look up to the forest’s light-filtering canopy.

White privilege bolstered by teaching math, university professor says
A math education professor at the University of Illinois says the ability to solve geometry and algebra problems and teaching such subjects perpetuates so-called white privilege.
Rochelle Gutierrez laid out her views on the subject in an article for a newly published anthology for math educators titled, “Building Support for Scholarly Practices in Mathematics Methods.”
“School mathematics curricula emphasizing terms like Pythagorean Theorem and pi perpetuate a perception that mathematics was largely developed by Greeks and other Europeans," she says, according to Campus Reform.
She also says that addressing equity in mathematics education will come when teachers can understand and negotiate the politics outside the classroom.
“On many levels, mathematics itself operates as whiteness. Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as white,” she writes.

Supreme Court kills Hawaii's case against Trump refugee ban after executive order expires
The Supreme Court on Tuesday formally scrapped Hawaii's challenge to President Trump's 120-day refugee ban after the executive order expired.
Trump's March executive order halted decisions on refugee applications for 120 days. Trump changed the effective date of the order implementing the refugee ban as the legal fight over the executive order moved forward in the courts.
The Supreme Court previously eliminated oral arguments over the travel ban litigation from its calendar and ruled Trump v. International Refugee Assistance Project moot after the 90-day travel ban expired last month.
Following the expiration of Trump's refugee ban on Tuesday, the high court ruled Hawaii v. Trump moot, too. The justices also vacated lower court rulings over the refugee ban and sent the case back to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Clinton campaign, DNC helped fund infamous Trump dossier
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee reportedly hired the firm that assembled the infamous dossier that included salacious allegations about now-President Trump.
A lawyer who represented the campaign retained the Washington research firm Fusion GPS, which then hired a former British intelligence officer to dig up the unconfirmed dirt on Trump, according to The Washington Post.
The firm Fusion GPS had originally been funded by a still unknown GOP consultant firm during the combative 2016 GOP primary.
Clinton lawyer Marc E. Elias retained the firm in April 2016 and continued to fund the work until just days before the presidential election, the paper said.
